Three panel comic. Panel 1: on the set of the Jerry Springer show, a man sits in a chair. Jerry signals off-stage and says, “we have with us: your ancestor who crawled out of the ocean 375 million years ago!” Panel 2: the live studio audience is booing. Panel 3: security attempts to break up a fight between the man on stage, and his ancestor, a tiktaalik.

When I was about 4-5, we were visiting my great aunt, staying overnight. They made a place for me to sleep on the floor, in front of the TV. They had a televangelist on, one who was screaming and doing the faith healing bit. People were falling over, shaking and writhing. Had vivid nightmares after.

Do you know what to do if you feel earthquake shaking? If you live in North America and the ground starts to shake the recommended action is to “drop, cover, and hold on”.

Could be pedogenic calcite encrusted around roots. The surrounding mudstone texture and fabric looks disrupted (pedo/bioturbated). Looks like there are fragments of broken tubules, as well. The light colored calcite may be recrystallized so that it contrasts with the now reddened mudstone.

Paleontology people - We found numerous tube(?) shaped calcite objects in sandier layers within the overall mudrock sequence at Culpeper on Friday. These terrestrial strata are Triassic in age. Does anyone recognize this as a fossil? If so, what taxon do you think they are? ⚒️
