If USA Today is indeed unilaterally putting source interviews in some sort of database, in their entirety, allowing them to be cherry-picked by other reporters—and *AI*(!!)—that is journalistically indefensible and no one should ever talk to them again. Is this true? Is it Gannett wide?

Mauricio Pochettino was asked today about how he handles dual nationals, and how he thinks Mexico manager Rafael Márquez might handle Mexican-Americna dual nationals in particular. Pochettino gave a long response in Spanish, including a reference to Noahkai Banks. It is translated to English here:
I won't speak for Rafa because I don't know his stance, but we are certainly keeping an eye on players who might find themselves in that situation. I don't know how Mexico will handle it, or how Rafa will approach it now, but for us, the important thing is that they *want* to be with us.

Ultimately, if they want to play for us, they have to follow the same rules, right? Just because they have dual nationality — well, they might have a different privilege, sure — but in the end, we have to judge them the same way. The most important thing is knowing they want to play for us. It can't be a case of "I'll play for the United States if I get taken to the World Cup," or "I'll play if I get called up,” always setting conditions.

If a player sets conditions for joining the national team, no matter how good they are, it’s better if they don’t come, right? Because ultimately, the group, the team, is more important than a player who imposes conditions. I believe that, for me, a player who sets conditions simply cannot be on a national team's radar.

Then situations arise: a young player might be torn because his mother holds one nationality and his father another. He might want to play for his mother's or for his father's national team. Ultimately, it’s about presenting the opportunity, no?

Or showing him why he should choose to play for us and letting him decide. But the decision should come from a desire to belong to a national team, to defend a flag, to sing the anthem — there are so many factors involved. It shouldn't be a matter of convenience, money, or promises — things that I believe shouldn't happen in a national team setup. That’s why, knowing Rafa and the Mexican national team, I don’t think that sort of thing goes on.

Whenever we consider calling up a player, we always discuss whether he actually wants to be with us. If he does, great. If not, well, there was the case involving Noahkai Banks, a young player who was torn between Germany and the United States.

We had a very good relationship, but he preferred to wait, and this summer he decided he wanted to be available for the German national team, and he was called up to their U-21 squad.

In the end, the player was honest; he had always wanted to wait. We thought that, given his sporting qualities, he might join us, but that was his choice. Ultimately, it comes down to the player making the decision.

Imagine being cut off from the world - for your whole life. That's reality for children like Aya. The blockade of Gaza began when she was a baby, the occupation in the West Bank before her parents were born. Now she is eleven, and the blockade goes on.
Aya's childhood memories are of conflict and hardship, walls she cannot escape, and the fear that the only home she knows, however tiny, could be gone when she returns from school.
This Ramadan, please help support children like Aya who have known nothing but conflict and hardship. Donate here: http://buff.ly/2qgsPOY

I'm not sure who saw this coming, but so far nearly all the jobs created during the second Trump administration have gone to women.
Line chart titled "So far during Trump's second term, just 8% of all job growth has gone to men" showing change in employment by gender since January 2025. Total nonfarm employment grew by 776,000 jobs through September 2026, with women gaining 711,000 positions (92% of growth) while men added only 65,000 jobs (8% of growth). Women's employment gains accelerated sharply through 2026, reaching 711,000 by September, while men's employment growth remained flat with brief periods of decline, including a drop of 96,000 jobs in February 2026.
