What ally of the US detains our politicians and gets away with it with such impunity? None. Israel is a rogue and hostile nation to Americans. Americans are being killed, harassed and beaten there by the IDF and we act like it’s nothing. There is no other country that could get away with this.

RCE means someone doesn't need to physically be at the server to exploit, unauthenticated means that there isn't any checks being done on the servers end when exploit is attempted, unconditional means that there's no specific prereqs needed to exploit. If a website uses PHP you can exploit it.

If your site is running PHP it's basically signaling your door is unlocked

Oh, tomorrow is going to be fun. Pretty much any site using PHP has to be patched.

The only reason Intel has scraped by under it is because they already had a foundry and so were in the only position that could potentially meet with the impossible demands required.

070 7

James GHOULizio 👻 @theswweet.myatproto.social · 13h

I think the better way to put it is that tech was already pretty broken even before AI went out of control, not least of all due to no competition with TSMC. That's the whole reason the CHIPS act was a thing but unfortunately those who wrote it did not understand tech at all.

191 9

James GHOULizio 👻 @theswweet.myatproto.social · 13h

Part of the whole reason Nintendo went with Samsung is they were much cheaper and they wouldn't be competing with allocation. That's not really an option for a cutting edge chip like what will be in the next-gen consoles; PS5 and Series X were very new tech, I anticipate things will be the same now.

1111 11

James GHOULizio 👻 @theswweet.myatproto.social · 13h

This is a factor I really do think most folks just aren't aware of, so I don't blame them for not knowing, but not only have each successive node shrink gotten more expensive per wafer but they never really got cheaper over time. This is a big reason why the slim consoles never got cheaper.

190 9

James GHOULizio 👻 @theswweet.myatproto.social · 13h

In a normal world the SoC would be the bulk of the cost of the machine, and it's not like TSMC wafers have gotten cheaper over the last decade rather than more expensive. I really would expect $1200 minimum and even then that would be subsidized.

1130 13

James GHOULizio 👻 @theswweet.myatproto.social · 13h

I don't know how to say this, but I've seen multiple people assuming PS6 would "only" be $1000 after the news about storage and RAM costing nearly $700 now, and it's going to a very rude awakening when the actual price is announced. The only way it's that low is if they made PS+ $150 a year.

Waymo is cops. It's a remote control car data scraper and surveillance system pretending to be a cab. The secondary revenue stream is you paying for a ride. The main source is selling data. And they're dangerous as hell. I'm always amazed how many people are unwilling to see that shit.
