The correct title would be like "Towards a game engine for the AI Generation" basically noting that it's an engine built in the age of AI and they're using it to help track down bugs, improve testing and work with its codebase. I don't love that stuff but it's a world away from GenAI.

EG fell for it too. :( The Capcom presentation contains a slide with "AI世代のゲームエンジンへ" - the article omits the "へ", for one, but the issue is that while 世代 means 'generation', it's in the 'console generation' sense, not like GenAI. Without へ, translation software gets it totally wrong.

Some would say this isn't in the spirit of the puzzle, but my response is: I'm a programmer, taking the fun out of things is my job description

Doing this would basically always solve the puzzle within 4 moves. Which feels a little like cheating but hey, that's what algorithms are for!

And a demonstrated solve, just to prove how reliable this is

And do the same as with the dictionary. It even helpfully gives you "distance" in the form of number of arrows, which almost does the next "halfing" for you, so you can logically skip past it. E.g. if 8 got 1 arrow down you'd pick 6, if it got 2 arrows down you pick 4. Easy solve!)

(you can do this with basically any list of things that are already sorted by some usual logic - numerically, alphabetically, etc. you can apply it to hexcodle because every colour is 000000 - FFFFFF and it gives you clues per digit, so start with 888888, look at the clues if it's higher or lower,

(how it works: pick a word. Open the dictionary to the middle. If you're alphabetically prior to your word, split the latter half of the dictionary in half again and open it to the middle. Repeat until you find your word. It sounds slow but in practice it's unbelievably quick)
