if there is one single criticism i have of control resonant it's that it isn't self-indulgent enough. it loves the player too much. i think that's what sam lake brought to the table in the first game, it's why you have the slightly overwrought narration and framing and ahti and all of that.

Test Drive 6. Is it good? No. Does it have Fear Factory's cover of Cars with Gary Numan doing new vocals constantly throughout? Do you just occasionally hear "Leave You Far Behind" kick in when you begin a race in a flat, weird track? Is the handling model beautifully stupid? I love playing it.

it doesn't ruin it for me but it is wild how common it is that there's no attempt to hide in a shot reverse shot that the audio take of the actor whose face you can't see blatantly isn't the take on camera. i'm guessing very few people notice this because it keeps happening and it's so distracting
