It's always a good day when there's another Leaded Solder blog post up! Even if it isn't quite the conclusion we were all hoping for.

And last, but not least, a huge thank you to my boyfriend! He's always so supportive of me and all my silly projects, but especially for VCFMW. He has dealt with a chaotic home for the past 6 weeks as ripped apart systems and shipments from Japan have covered every inch of our place. 💜

Big thanks to my friends (new and old) who helped with load-in/load-out, came by to catch up, gave me wonderful stickers, and helped me test out my CAD Writer 😂 I'm so excited to see how all your upcoming projects turn out, and I'm inspired to start working on mine again this fall!

#Sharptember is realizing the SASI cable is kind of stuck in your SCSI2SD card. So you just unhook and take the entire cable with you. Don't even get me started on the screws I chose years ago to screw the card into a 3D printed drive tray adapter. Flat head? What the hell was I thinking 😓

Ended up making an X68K Stereoscopic cable that plugs directly into the Famicom 3D System box, bypassing the 15-pin adapter entirely. I modified a JST connector to match the header, made some pins for it, and soldered the other ends up to a mini-DIN 6. It wasn't easy 🫠 Will test it out tomorrow
There's a Nintendo Famicom 3D System box with a cable coming out of it that has a mini-DIN 6 end, instead of going to a 15-pin adapter that normally plugs into a Famicom. The aforementioned adapter is sitting to the side, with a cable hanging out. Under it is a diagram showing how to normally make this X68000 3D adapter.

9pm projects are always so interesting. Especially during #Sharptember If it works, I'll bring it to VCFMW. I saw the newer X68000 image has some games already 3D patched.

Later today I'll be working on a very special Casio Loopy item for VCFMW. Fingers crossed everything works out and my soldering is on point. Just know that this picture has been living rent-free in my head for weeks. I really want to know what TV that is.

It's a Sharp X1. There were quite a few models that had red options, including at least one X1 Turbo. Sharp also had a few MZ-80 options with red hoods as well

Back to the grind - trying to figure out what games work from other PC98 images, and then compiling them all into a final image. Honestly, I just want to be done and move on to testing other systems for VCFMW. Also really want to work on the extra cool items for my gacha machine.

Yeah, it had been plugged in for a few days before I even got to that point, so it had enough time to have a proper charge. Either way, I have it apart now to install a HDD replacement + swap the battery.

I figured it was some battery silliness. Reminds me of how my car gauges were acting when my battery was super low. I have to crack the computer open anyways, so I'll probably just replace the battery once I figure out what it is.
