The GOP may not govern well, nor ever pass a balanced budget. But they’re experts at grievance politics because they know that fueling anger and conspiracism is viral and can be politically useful. Expect more such spectacles between now and November. By @schaller67.bsky.social in @atrupar.com’s PN

Illinois made history as the first state to outlaw book bans once and for all. Marginalizing people, ideas, or facts has no place in our state — and they have no place in a democracy. This National Library Week, we continue our commitment to free thought and free speech.
In 2023, Governor JB Pritzker was joined by Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, advocates, and lawmakers at the Harold Washington Library to sign legislation outlawing book bans in Illinois.
