Salah Sarsour is being targeted for his support for Palestine – full stop. The meritless charges from before his arrival in the United States over three decades ago, which were fully disclosed prior to Sarsour receiving his green card, are no basis to deport him.

Note to the US Supreme Court - deporting immigrants to countries they have no connection to is human trafficking. You just approved human trafficking.

There are real problems with our current global trade policy that harm American workers, but everything this Administration does seems to make these problems worse. What would a fair trade policy look like? Come to UWM tonight to find out!

I can’t help but feel that the Republican platform in the age of MAGA is based around a central philosophy that some lives have merit and deserve to have their rights and dignity respected, while others do not.

Privatization is almost never the answer. This whole MMSD contract saga is just the latest example. Public dollars for public goods should go toward work performed by public employees.

You may have heard of the "Brain Drain," but what about the "Doc Block?" Trump's backward immigration policies, including some specifically targeted at international students, have caused a dramatic drop in applications and enrollments among international students.

Employers underpay their workers by an estimated $50 billion every year through various forms of wage theft. That's more than every type of property crime COMBINED. DoorDash alone paid a $131.5 million settlement in New York City for underpaying their delivery drivers.

The Trump Administration announced yesterday it has canceled the health insurance policies of 760,000 Americans who are enrolled in plans on the Obamacare Exchange. At a time when everything - particularly healthcare - is too damn expensive, this move will only make the problem worse.

Our reality TV star turned President is faring so poorly in public opinion right now that he’s cut off TV press access for outlets that refuse to cover him more favorably. As a result, the rest of the TV press corps are refusing to do pool coverage of his events until further notice.

You wouldn't hire an anti-vaxxer to develop a new vaccine. Why would you elect someone who thinks government is the problem to run the government?

For every $1 billion spent to build an AI data center, Wisconsin loses $40 million in tax revenue during initial construction and $10 million annually thereafter due to a sales tax exemption included in the 2023-25 State Budget.

Republicans have been in control of the legislature since 2011. Every budget passed since then has been a Republican budget. If you're mad about inadequate school funding, high property taxes, or anything else the state has a hand in, thank a Republican.

Tired of paying more every year for electricity while WE Energies' CEO makes $12 million and the company earns billions in profits? TOMORROW is the last day the WI PSC is accepting public comments on the proposed rate hike that seeks to raise electric bills by 14% over the next 2 yrs.

Knowing we could save over 100,000 lives and $1 trillion every year by passing Medicare for All and still not doing it is the kind of cruelty and stupidity revolutions are made of. Find out where your federal representatives (and potential representatives) stand on this issue and hold them to it!

The official position of the Trump Administration regarding Artificial Intelligence is as incoherent as one of his rally speeches. First, he seems to believe industry claims that AI is the greatest invention in human history, and is capable of solving nearly every human problem.

Reaganomics has been around for almost a half-century. If wealth was gonna trickle down it would have happened by now. We should tax the rich, fully fund our schools, restore worker rights, and get money out of politics if we actually want to build shared prosperity.

If you’ve ever wondered why the quality of local gov’t services isn’t what it used to be, it’s pretty simple: The cost to continue - the amount of $ it takes to maintain service at current levels, has increased much faster than available revenues. This is due to state-imposed revenue limits.

Trump’s war with Iran has cost the average American household $770 in additional gas/diesel prices since the end of February, with no end in sight. He came into office promising lower prices, and between his useless war and reckless tariffs, he’s done just the oposite.

Trump's signature legislation in his 2nd term - the Big Ugly Bill - cut $1 trillion from Medicaid to offset $1 trillion in tax cuts for the top 1%. That's mustache-twirling levels of evil all by itself.

One of the biggest expenses for employers is employee health insurance. In 2027, health insurance premiums are set to increase at the highest level since 2003. Single-payer universal healthcare would take that cost off the books for employers, freeing up more $ for pay increases for workers.

When you're born on third base, it's easy to think you hit a triple. When our elected leaders are either wealthy themselves or spend most of their time appealing to and appeasing wealthy donors and special interests, they are going to fight hardest for policies that benefit the rich.

Gas prices are at an all-time August high, wage growth is at it's lowest level in 5 years, inflation is stubbornly high, we're wasting billions on a pointless war, and our President is spending his time building ballrooms, trying to suppress the vote, and renaming bodies of water.

Legal monopoly We Energies is proposing yet another electric rate hike - a whopping 14%. If approved, the total increase for MKE-area customers will be 43% since 2020. We are in the midst of an affordability crisis. Our neighbors cannot afford constant rate hikes on top of everything else.

Fairness is not about everyone getting the same things, it's about everyone getting what they need. That's why public schools are so important. At their best, they're places where every kid - regardless of how much money their parents make - is able to learn the skills needed to thrive as adults.

Consolidation in any industry is almost always bad for consumers. Healthcare is no exception. In Wisconsin, a few large (and ever-growing) health systems dominate most markets, leaving patients with few options and high prices - some of the highest prices in the nation.

There have been 76 school referendums on the ballot in Wisconsin this year. There will be another 59 on the ballot in November. Nearly every district in the state has had to go to referendum at some point in the past 5 years - some of them multiple times.

Instead of fighting senseless wars, we should be fighting climate change. Instead of building data centers, we should be building housing. Instead of corporate welfare give us universal healthcare.
