this is a terrible idea and also we are talking about UK law. section 230 is the only reason that lets small platforms exist on the internet. big platforms can afford the legal fees it takes to exist without its protection. anything that isn't a megacorp doesn't.

Simplest way out of our descent into madness is to strip the section 230 protecrions for any platform that uses engagement-driven algorithms. If your system boosts certain posts for clicks, you are no longer a neutral platform. You're a publisher, and you're responsible for what you publish.
