As a long-time Clippers fan since 1988, Steve Ballmer and the Clippers frankly deserve this. I'm surprised Commissioner Adam Silver had the balls to actually drop the hammer. However, the Flaw, Kawhi Leonard, & Uncle Dennis got away with a slap on the wrist. At least I can be a fan again.

I figured this would happen. The Dodgers' need for a capable backup C was clear even if it wasn't vital. Bringing back a familiar face whom the pitching staff is comfortable with is a plus. Hopefully, Friedman & Co. can sell off some superfluous assets to address the depth in minor-league rosters.

Upon further review of the supposed best offer (from Milwaukee) that could have beaten the Dodgers' offer, I still don't see it being the preferred package for the Tigers. Biased LAD fan or not, I personally wouldn't want the Brewers' offerings over the Dodgers'.

The thing is about the trade packages proposed in this article is that none of the proposals, w/the arguable exception of the Brewers' featuring INF Luis Peña, beat the Dodgers' centerpiece in Zyhir Hope. I don't like giving up Zyhir Hope, especially for a rental in any deal, but the Tarik Skubal trade couldn't be done w/o a top prospect headlining the package and Sheehan was not included in the offer. Obviously, the Dodgers have 2 other premium OF prospects in Quintero & Sirota w/DePaula more 1B/DH.

This was a prospect trade situation, not a highest $$$$ situation. Other teams like the brewers could have beaten the dodgers’ offer and gone all in on trying to win this year with Miz and Skubal but chose not to.
