I've never felt a closer affinity to a dog as when at the vet today, a lady walked in with a pug that instantly began snarling and barking at the 3 children (2 of whom should have been in school) and didn't settle down until they left. Fistbump, little dog, fistbump.

The positive side of all this is that I can take a day or two off at will and can work at my own speed.

I wish we had something like that in the US but all I can find are primers (Bin and Kilz) that have the blocking properties. Probably not too bad of a solution for me, considering the odors I've uncovered as I've stripped the oil/latex/polyurethane away.

Thank you! As of today, we're nearing the end of the phone issues. Hopefully by October, we'll be done completely and moving on to EVEN MORE STRANGE AND DISTURBING issues. 🤪

In between the on-going horror of my kitchen cabinets, my husband's cell phone situation has been a nightmare. Part of it is his age and hearing, but the other part is the phones we bought were shit. We're slowly rectifying that situation, but oy vey ... two. months. later ...

It’s a slow process because once I finish, I’ll have to use a heavy duty primer (all the wood has pine knots) and then 2 coats of cabinet paint. The moral of this story? All those rich white DIY housewives are trying to kill us. 4/end

That brown round mark on the left-hand door is pine knot and the tannin has bled through all three layers. So far, I have stripped and sanded all but 8 doors and over half the cabinets. 3/

What you’re seeing in this photo is white latex paint over oil based avocado green. Beneath these two layers is a polyurethane coating. I found this out when I went to scrape the latex off and in some places all three layers came away. 2/
