EV update: Our 2026 Toyota BZ is now ~3mo, old. My wife has put 1050 miles on it & the efficiency for mostly city driving is impressive: 4.9 miles/kWh. With our electricity at $0.18/kWh we've spent just $39 to charge at home. 🧪🔌💡☀️💨💧🔋

This gives a much better view of the same car: a late W124/S124 Mercedes estate with the AMG treatment.

The interesting bits are the AMG-style front bumper, lowered stance and period monoblock wheels.

That, and the curious vents where the fog lamps should be...

That close-up shows one of the more unusual W124 options: the headlamp wiper/wash system.

You can also see the facelift headlamp construction clearly: the main H4 lamp on the outer side, with the large dark inner section beside the grille. The little wiper sweeps across the headlamp lens, with washer fluid supplied through the system to clean it.

Yeah, and there's that vent. I wonder why that's there...

Now that explains the rest of the car.

This is a Mercedes M120 V12 installation—the 6.0-litre, 48-valve V12 most famously used in the W140 S600/600 SEL and R129 600 SL.

So the S124 you’ve been showing isn’t merely a wagon with AMG cosmetics. If this is the same car, it’s had an M120 V12 transplanted into a W124/S124 estate, which is a considerably more serious build. The enormous twin intake manifolds and the sheer amount of engine filling the bay are unmistakable.

The Cornell story is horrific, but I’d like to shine a light on what happened at LSU with a current football player on the team:

In July, the school found Shanklin responsible for "forcible rape" and issued a one-year suspension, which is a full ban from campus and activities, according to documents reviewed by ESPN. After Shanklin appealed, an administrative law judge who handles appeals per LSU policy upheld the finding that the athlete was responsible for "forcible rape," but reduced the punishment to four semesters of probation with no restrictions, which allows Shanklin to remain enrolled and on campus and to participate in activities as long as he stays out of trouble.
