Becoming convinced that cis people don’t hear themselves speak, that loud music that plays in their heads the moment they open their mouths, or they would surely horrify themselves with the cruelties they describe as cheerily and dismissively as if they were dictating a shopping list.

“Reform will be worse!” For you. I don’t see how they’ll be much worse than Labour for me or other trans people at this point They’ve been waging a pretty successful campaign to eliminate us from public life and have been honest about that being their objective

We’ve now gotten to the point where Labour MPs just admit the problem is that normal people might have to perceive trans people in public and that is what’s unacceptable Can’t wait to be told I NEED to vote for Labour again because they’re the “lesser evil” somehow

We have gone from "trans women are men so they should be excluded from women's single sex wards" to "trans women shouldn’t be allowed in mixed sex wards either"

Got to note that nothing about this policy would’ve avoided seeing a trans person either as she was still on a mixed ward. I’m not entirely sure what the point of this anecdote is other than her pure frothing hatred no longer being contained

Straight up bigotry at this point. This is just admitting “men in women’s spaces” aren’t the problem, as cis men would’ve been on the mixed ward too. Trans people are It’s all about their personal disgust and prejudice dictating policy and nothing to do with safety We live in such a sick society

It is deeply telling that, even if we take this story at face value (we shouldn't), by Antoniazzi's account this was a mixed sex ward. Trans people are apparently committing some terrible crime by accessing emergency services at all as far as this Labour MP is concerned.

God isn’t it great having a labour government, labour MPs are so great if you ignore the unwillingness to nationalise anything, blaming migrants, attacking the disabled community and the constant unrelenting transphobia
Tweet from Matthew Hulbert

This is not a grand statement, as I’m not a fan of when non-ministers/MOs do those, but just to say that tomorrow I’ll be resigning from NHSEngland’s LGBT+ sounding board over the announcement that all trans staff and patients announcement that all trans staff and patients must use facilities of their biological birth.

Quote tweet from Tonia Antoniazzi, labour MP

I’m sorry you’ll resign but I was in a mixed sex emergency ward with my mother as she had no where to go and tbh I was more concerned about the trans person there because of how my mother would have reacted than for them.I stayed there to make sure all was ok. Think of everyone!

I actually think the use of the word “finally” is so telling as to the role our heavily right-wing media plays in our politics. Sources like The Telegraph have been pushing successive governments for trans-exclusionary policy for years. They’ve got what they wanted. This is now their victory lap.

The NHS is already one of the biggest perpetrators of anti-trans violence in the UK. This new guidance, which refers to trans people using slurs, demands that we be segregated and abused. I’ve said it before: senior NHS managers must be sacked and punished for what they’ve done to us.

I think it’s easier to appreciate what has happened here if you understand that crypto serves almost no public need except for facilitating criminal activity, and that it operates as a series of pyramid schemes designed to extract money from suckers.
An interesting political economy problem: the outsized political influence of relatively niche sectors where large personal fortunes can be made. 1/3

Crypto is one. A large personal fortune can certainly be made which can be turned into large political donations and influence policy.
Much easier for crypto billionaire X to make donations to UK politicians than large global financial institution Y.
Y matters more economically, X gets a voice. 2/3

I think this was very apparent during the Brexit negotiations. Large financial institutions - with real economic weight - generally would have preferred to stay in the Single Market.
But some very prominent Brexiteer hedge funders preferred a harder Brexit.
The Hers often had more access.

Bluesky's Head of Trust and Safety handed his block list to a bot. 1,271 people blocked in eleven days. He says it never looks at who you are. Blocks are public, so I checked. Trans people were blocked at 2.5× the odds of everyone else, for posts of the same harshness. 🧵
Title card reading "Who the autoblocker blocked". Three figures: 1,271 accounts blocked in eleven days, against twelve in the two years before. 46% of the readable bulk-loaded accounts had never replied to, quoted or mentioned him this year. 2.5× the odds of being blocked for a trans-identified account, against others who wrote equally harsh posts. Below, a quote from Aaron Rodericks, 1 Oct 2026: "These do not factor in your bio or your identity. I have zero clue who you are."

Corporate pride is one of those "measure not goal" things. Yes, it's indicative of where the culture's at and you'd rather it be present than not. No, it's not particularly advantageous to queer communities in and of itself. Yes, the signalling is often used to obfuscate their complicity in harm.

Amazing complaint from @coramcgladdery.bsky.social raising some important points. I’ve also raised a complaint asking which part of the meaning of "Protect the Dolls" the BBC doesn't want to promote.
"I’m complaining about the BBC blurring “Protect the Dolls” on Bethany’s T-shirt during Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing broadcast after deleting and reposting promotional footage that avoided showing the message. Apparently, even a message of solidarity with trans women was too much for the BBC. A spokesperson defended this, stating “appropriate steps are taken to reduce the inclusion of any overt branding or slogans”. But this isn’t branding. It’s a message of solidarity with transgender women, and the BBC knows exactly what it means. In a December 2025 article, the BBC itself described the phrase as calling for “the safety, visibility and respect of transgender women against anti-trans rhetoric and violence”. Those are your words, not mine. So which part of that message does the BBC not wish its audience to see? Our safety? Our visibility? Our right to be treated with respect? Let’s call this what it is: trans erasure. A message affirming the visibility and safety of transgender women has been deliberately obscured. At a time when trans people face relentless hostility, the BBC has chosen to hide a message of solidarity rather than let it be seen. Hiding the message doesn’t make us disappear, but it does raise serious questions about whose visibility the BBC considers expendable. A generic reference to editorial guidelines isn’t an adequate answer. Would the BBC treat a message supporting another marginalised group in the same way? If not, why are trans women being treated differently? I want the BBC to identify the specific editorial guideline that justified this decision and explain why a message advocating our safety, visibility and respect was considered unsuitable for broadcast. The BBC knows what “Protect the Dolls” means because it’s already explained it to the public. So why, having acknowledged the importance of our safety and visibility, did it choose to hide a message calling for precisely that?"

‘Protect the Dolls’ is a term meaning ‘take care of trans ppl’. Its origin is due to the campaign of persecution & violence aimed at this vulnerable part of the Gay community. LGBTQ ppl nationally, & internationally, have been flagging that UK state TV is actively transphobic, for years. More proof!
