Throwing billions in public money behind a pipeline at a time of climate breakdown – while sweeping aside environmental protections, meaningful Indigenous consultation and workers’ right to strike – is absolutely not in the national interest.

The oil industry is unwilling to pay for this pipeline because even they know the world is moving away from fossil fuels. This project leaves Canadians bearing all the risks of a bad investment without any of the rewards.

For everyone who keeps saying Avi Lewis needs a seat in the House: because of the size of the party right now, the NDP got ONE question in this whole QP and it was the very last one, like thirty minutes into the session. And Carney didn't even answer it, despite taking the questions off the top.

There's a reason previous Liberal governments looked at privatizing airports and didn't go through with it. Private investors don't want a stake in our public assets to make them better. They’re in it to make as much money as possible for themselves - while workers and passengers pay the price.

Screenshot of an article headline from the Toronto Star: Carney’s $1-trillion investment summit to feature pipelines, nuclear build-outs and data centres — but no airports. Subheading: A document obtained by the Star offers a window into the aims of the much-hyped summit taking place in Toronto next week.

AfD media relations: 61-year-old journalist writing for Politico says she was physically assaulted and dragged to police by an AfD security guard after attempting to talk to the AfD’s lead candidate She was told “mainstream” press were not welcome at the AfD event www.politico.eu/article/ulri...
Beyond the conviviality of the sausage line, the mood can sour fast — as I discovered when I sought to speak with Siegmund in Lützen, only to be told "mainstream" press were not welcome. I was roughly jostled aside, my arm twisted by a musclebound heavy flanking Siegmund, who sported an earpiece and a lavishly tattooed neck.
"Move or I will take you to the police," he barked. We had a short, unproductive debate about the constitutionally guaranteed right to report freely in public places.
Another hard arm twist and shove ensued, ending with me stumbling over a curb and being dragged to a police car. No one seemed much bothered by this.
