I would not only resist the One Ring, I would be clever and virtuous enough to turn things around so that Sauron only thought he was using me while really I was using him in order to right the great wrongs of the world, redress injustices, confiscate power from the unworthy, and oh shit I'm a wraith

has anyone played World of Horror? It's a visual-novel horror game with TTRPG and board game vibes / also kinda Roguelike with replayability. Aesthetics of old apple + PC98 videogames + Jungi Ito horror. I love it, and every time I play it I wonder how the physical analog version would fare.

splash screen of the World of Horror videogame, in black and white pixelart ("1 bit") reminiscent of old apple II or PC-98 japanese games from the late 80's or early 90's. It depicts the coastline of a small creepy town with a dark lighthouse emitting an ominous aura.

Googling Stuff: Then v Now.

This title if the comic is ‘Googling Stuff…’
The comic shows two columns: on the left is “Then” showing search results with one thing listed as “the thing you want”

On the right column is ‘Now’ - also showing search results but in this case it’s a whole bunch of stuff you don’t need:

You are probably going to put money into #MarvelRivals to get the Season Pass goodies; I would so that I can change Wolverine's horrible default skin into the classic one. WE ARE NOT THE SAME.

hey #ttrpg folks with #wargame and #skirmish knowledge... What is the equivalent of OSR/Nu-SR/indie-compatible rules systems for Skirmish miniature games? I'm looking for a skirmish game "standard" or something that is easily hackable / community driven, probably mini-agnostic and with DIY ethos

re: #accountVerification IMHO it should be decentralized. Domain verification is a nice one; it should be one of many systems. Community driven labels should be the way to go here. If you trust the label maintainer, good enough. Specially if/when Bluesky becomes truly decentralized

Sometimes, you don't need to tell a character's back story in lengthy flashbacks. Sometimes, you just need to give them ONE moment so badass, the viewer will instantly know everything they need to know about them.

The part of the “old school” worth reviving has never been THAC0 or fighting orcs in gray corridors but the DIY attitude of design that ceased once D&D grew from being just a Game to being a Brand

new cover art for my #ttrpg DYING SUN. made in Autodesk Sketchbook in an Android Tablet. the game is post-apocalyptic fantasy ala "Dark Sun", "Conan" or "Conqueror of the Barren Earth", with mechanics of the #24XX system by Jason Tocci. you can check it out here: tatooka.itch.io/24xx-dying-sun

A dark-skinned muscular man standing against a red sun, in a harsh red desert landscape with mountains in the background. He's wearing little clothes, a loincloth, a long spear, a shield, and a hand-axe. The title of the cover reads "24XX: LO-FI POST-APOC RPG" and "DYING SUN".

excited bc tomorrow I'll playtest a #24XX #ttrpg hack I'm working on, which is basically cheesy Kung Fu movies from the 80's/90's with involved martial arts mechanics and card-revealing rock/paper/scissors style maneuvers. Maybe it's fun, maybe it's too cumbersome and overly complex, we'll see.
