When I was volunteering at the COVID19 vaccine POD in 2021, people would say over and over again that they were getting vaccinated for the people they love. Last year, only 17.5% of American adults got the COVID19 vaccine. Please get one for the people you love. 💕

I don’t talk about real life on Main but my comment requires credentialing: i was at food banks 4x times last month, trying to support etc. Food insecurity is off the charts & I just don’t see anything on the horizon to help people. It’s terrifying. I just come home and sulk and cry and dissociate.

Hope in the Dark = Never Fucking Surrendering #booksky #history #antifa
“Hope is not a lottery ticket you can sit on the sofa and clutch, feeling lucky. It is an axe you break down doors with in an emergency. Hope should shove you out the door, because it will take everything you have to steer the future away from endless war, from the annihilation of the earth's treasures and the grinding down of the poor and marginal. … To hope is to give yourself to the future—and that commitment to the future is what makes the present inhabitable.”

You can’t get a Platner the kind of party support he got without a lot of people working behind the scenes who are willing to protect racists and rapists. If victims are systematically pushed out, then that’s who’s left in the room: only people who think violence and bigotry are “not that bad.”
