Asian action genres like tokusatsu, kaiju, martial arts are seen as "cheap" "low budget" genres (they are)! You can tell who did and didn't do community sports/theatre/etc by how people see volunteering for an activity they are in. The reality is that indie wrestling is more similar to playing a volleyball rec league than being a TV product. Guess who sets up the nets at those rec leagues? The players!!
