Canadian Space Launch Act fall session update and whatever happened to the Technology Safeguards Agreement with the U.S.
With parliament reconvened, one piece of legislation on our radar is Bill C-28, the Canadian Space Launch Act, which was in second reading in April before the House took its summer break. In the meantime, more than two years after Ottawa announced that "substantive negotiations" on a Technology Safeguards Agreement with the U.S had been completed, the agreement remains unsigned.

What a brilliant idea and great praise for the idea. Letting everyone have access to the literature we should all read is extremely important. Currently re-reading 1984, and it's quite scary how close a lot of societies are moving to that as a model, and how many idiots would like it.

A lot of quibbling in these comments about if Trump’s margin of victory constitutes a “mandate”. For that, have to look at the wider picture including Congress — his party won both the House and Senate as well, that trifecta is what constitutes a mandate in the US. Hopefully that gets revoked soon…

This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate. The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.
