Labour's 4 tests. Test 3: #Noise. #Heathrow expansion would mean nearly 1 million more people affected by aircraft noise, & so more likely to suffer from high blood pressure (even when asleep), reduced wellbeing and heart problems.. Result: Either test not met or bar not set high enough!

It's hard to see how a #3rdRunway is in the UK's national interest when: #Heathrow is 100% owned by overseas investors; overseas transfer passengers are expected to take 75% of new capacity; UK taxpayers are likely to pick up the bill for transport upgrades and the health impacts. #NoThirdRunway

Grim timing yesterday as news of the Met Office Red alert flashed up on phones right in the middle of a big event about new Met Office forecasts for June 2056, showing potential peak temperatures of 45C in England. Stopping the CO2 emissions driving this is essential, but we also need to prepare.
