Two afternoon shifts at a dive bar. Handful of customers. I think I made one mixed drink and messed it up. Never again.

In my mind, I picture wombats as badger or possum sized, but they're ... um ... not.

This take (in the article, not the post) is so ludicrous I can't believe it's being made in good faith - pun not intended, but I'll take it.

I think the point about the volume of media being produced is key. If people are, or feel, pressured to provide increasing amounts of content, some of it is just simply going to be subpar - or unintentionally revealing.

I reviewed Spamalot in the UK with Tim Curry as King Arthur. I wrote that he was the single most charismatic performer I had ever seen onstage. The editor tried to delete 'I had ever seen', thinking I meant that night. Me: No. He is the most charismatic performer I have ever seen. Bar none.
Tim Curry taking a curtain call in Spamalot, dressed as King Arthur, arm in arm with Eric Idle. Unfortunately that dipwad John Cleese is in the background. Into every life a little rain must fall.

Didn't see this one mentioned. Fun show. Looking forward to season 2. I'll also give a shout out to the rock stars of 70s/80s Can Lit (incl Mordechai Richler, Margaret Atwood, Timothy Findley, Carol Shields, Margaret Laurence).

There seems to be a drive to remove "non-meaningful" social interactions from our everyday lives, which I find rather sad.

Either she is so deeply committed to the source material that she feels her opinions must be shared, or she can't stand seeing someone else get the limelight on something she has devoted years of her life to. Either way, she's staring to look a little needy and obsessive.

Is it really a miracle that someone aged 60 has a mind and something worth saying? Crikey, guys, get real. Are we meant to spend the last thirty years of our lives apologising for cluttering up the earth with our useless selves?

Netflix is struggling with keeping viewers "hooked" because it keeps canceling shows after 1 season so no one trusts a Netflix show to last. Its that simple, regardless of whatever their bullshit internal analytics are informing them.

I find the story of Hegelochus unreasonably funny. Imagine dying and the only trace of you millennia later is the time you accidentally said you saw a weasel in a tragic play in front of a packed audience, because people mocked you about it for centuries. (Thread for ease)

This, taken from a thread which is worth reading in its entirety, seems to me to go to the heart of the matter. Cheating has been firmly established as the way to succeed in America (and not just America). Whether AI or football, you cheat to win and if you don’t cheat you’re a loser.

Are you a 15th century king? Do you want to show that you’re down with this humanism stuff that your scholars keep talking about, but you’re also terrified of your own people & the damn French? Ask your architect if Fancy Renaissance Gate Sandwiched Between Existing Medieval Towers is right for you.
