It’s strange how just being a thoroughly decent person and willing to have a conversation with anyone gets people so far in politics these days. We need more people like that. Less people creating enemies of one another on both sides.

I think the coolest fact about the British aerospace industry is the sheer pace of development. The Spitfire first flew in 1936. Concorde first flew in 1969. In just 33 years Britain went from propeller planes to supersonic commercial flight. That’s astounding. We do not have that pace anymore.

I think the Premier League’s hope was that the fans would turn on the club and its owners thus forcing them to step back, not appeal, and accept punishment. The exact opposite of that has happened.

Football is a business - what you are essentially arguing is that no foreign money should be allowed to invest in the UK at all. If the Premier League develops anti-competitive rules, then can you blame foreign investors from seeing the UK as a lame duck place to put their money?

Been thinking of other teams to support if City do indeed cease to exist. It can’t be another UK team, especially not in the PL (though Brentford are my second team currently). I do like Barça for their football but it feels too easy. I might have a look at one of the Scandic clubs. What a mess 😞
