Two afternoon shifts at a dive bar. Handful of customers. I think I made one mixed drink and messed it up. Never again.

I would say I see flagrant rule breaking by drivers just about every day - going right through stop signs, turns where there are signs not to, cutting off pedestrians in cross walks. It's unbelievable.

Ha! I just read it a couple of weeks ago, for obvious reasons, and thought "ew, I missed that part when I was younger."

In my mind, I picture wombats as badger or possum sized, but they're ... um ... not.

You’ve inspired me to check out part one this weekend. And a good heads up to bring some tissues.

Well, I suppose the trip could have wound up and they're on the way home, or this is the tragic end of a doomed love affair. We'll never know 😢.

I once described someone as a "new friend", then did the math and realised I had known them for over 20 years 😬

I’ve done it on occasion - gone through the back catalogue, as it were. I read an 80s winner recently (Timothy Mo’s Sour Sweet).

I think this is a problem with rating multi-season TV shows. Most, including many of this list, tend to peter out over time. It's very hard to compare a seven-season show that tapers off with Chernobyl or Fleabag, for example, both of which (to me, anyway) were to the point and basically flawless.

This take (in the article, not the post) is so ludicrous I can't believe it's being made in good faith - pun not intended, but I'll take it.

A bit, but I also got slightly teary this weekend at the BBC documentary on the Bayeux Tapestry and Coyote vs ACME, so I am probably not representative of the general population.

I am pretty anti turning films into musicals in general, so I agree in principle. But I can see how the subject matter could make for a very dark and compelling piece.

I think the point about the volume of media being produced is key. If people are, or feel, pressured to provide increasing amounts of content, some of it is just simply going to be subpar - or unintentionally revealing.

I watched Philadelphia Story a million times when I was younger, and loved it. I watched it a couple of years ago and was really surprised and saddened by the messaging Katharine Hepburn's character was subjected to (don't be so strong-willed so men will love you). Everyone was beautiful though :).

I reviewed Spamalot in the UK with Tim Curry as King Arthur. I wrote that he was the single most charismatic performer I had ever seen onstage. The editor tried to delete 'I had ever seen', thinking I meant that night. Me: No. He is the most charismatic performer I have ever seen. Bar none.
Tim Curry taking a curtain call in Spamalot, dressed as King Arthur, arm in arm with Eric Idle. Unfortunately that dipwad John Cleese is in the background. Into every life a little rain must fall.

I have got to say that I find it odd he would want to go to Saudi. There is a hint in the article that he sees (or others see) his time for a move in England as being past. That seems unfortunate, and I don't know what his profile is like in other European leagues.
