Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is announcing today the opening of a 75-unit enhanced tiny house shelter for people experiencing homelessness, located in the Interbay neighborhood. The facility is a part of Wilson’s plan to open 1,000 new shelter beds per year, with 300 beds announced so far in 2026.

12th Ave is the main route for me, my wife, and our children to bike from our home at Dearborn / Rainier to Capitol Hill. It’s so dangerous that we mostly bike on the sidewalk. We desperately need a protected bike lane the full length of the 12th.

And no more Sweet Alchemy I guess, including the Capitol Hill location
Ko, who owns Sweet Alchemy Ice Creamery and Elixir cafe and bar, brushed aside questions about whether she gathered signatures against the “event as planned” or against what she believed to be the long-term goal of its planners.

“I know these guys and they have been pushing this for a long time. No cars,” she said. “We don’t have the infrastructure to handle a pedestrianized street.”

Ko said she was spurred to action after getting a flier in the mail about the event. She went up and down the avenue asking fellow business owners what they thought, and most either hadn’t gotten the flier or hadn’t read it.

I lost my helmet & GoPro because I was distracted by the view from my first ride on the 2 line. Anyone have suggestions on whether I should replace my helmet cam with a GoPro Max/Max2 to get 360 video of the reckless driving I regularly encounter?

Tax breaks for big corporations do not protect jobs. Meta eliminated more jobs in Bellevue than in Seattle, which has two business payroll taxes (JumpStart and Social Housing Prop 1A).

So this is weird. When Suresh and I talked on the phone on May 16, I told him I voted to impose the payroll tax for social housing. He said “OK” and moved on. Only 1A (which I voted for) imposed a payroll tax, as Suresh knows.

One of the Democrats running to represent me in #waleg from the 46th District, Will Dreher, not only clerked for Kavanaugh, he signed a letter in July 2018 in support of Kavanaugh's nomination, and maintained that support even after Christine Blasey Ford came forward about Kavanaugh assaulting her.

Incumbent Harrell has spent more time trying to bring the Sonics back than he has trying to bring back families who’ve been displaced by housing costs (which have more than doubled in the 15 years he’s been a politician in city hall).

You labelled Hollingsworth “progressive”. Once elected, she tried to repeal the minimum wage for tipped workers and voted to defund affordable housing by $200M/year to keep taxes low for Amazon. Fuse has work to do before being a trusted guide for Seattle elections.
The race for Seattle City Council in District 3, vacated by retiring council member Kshama Sawant, features two candidates with progressive values. Alex Hudson brings extensive policy experience working on housing, transit, and transportation issues across the region, while Hollingsworth has deep roots in District 3 and would be a strong advocate for her community. With at least four new members on the City Council next year, we believe Hudson's extensive knowledge and experience with Seattle's top policy challenges would be a particularly valuable addition. We recommend Hudson because of her significantly broader endorsements and policymaking background.
