We barely get Nintendo protos. And what we usually get are from games that don't have a super huge following. (Sound Fantasy, Kirby's Dream Course, Mario Artist) And when we get stuff from major games, it's a localization prototype, a build that's days before final, or just half a really old proto.

Yeah this movie totally rules. It gave me “Looney Tunes: Back in Action” energy in the best way possible. The writing was consistently funny while also having some really nice heartfelt moments too. Definitely recommend it. Can’t believe it was gonna be erased for a tax write off, fuck David Zaslav.

Coyote vs Acme is the best film I’ve seen all summer. An absurd masterpiece, a loving tribute to absurdism, hysterically funny, a worthy heir to its Looney Tune forefathers and to Roger Rabbit, and a sledgehammer “fuck you” to the very corporate fuckery that almost killed it. GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

The release of Coyote Vs. Acme got me thinking about the other Looney Tunes projects from this decade and it made me remember Bye Bye Bunny and it's cancelation. It's still disappointing knowing we could've gotten a musical Looney Tunes films and maybe one day it can be revived.

I wouldn't say it's a 0% chance, but investors or distributors would have to actively express interest, and it was never exactly their purpose to be more than what they were (though I'm sure some were hoping more than others). That said, there were some produced before the program that WERE pilots.

Might be interesting to know, but the cartoon cartoons series was a shorts program, not a pilots program. We were specifically instructed to create self contained one-shot narratives. There were also two tracks, one for 7-minute “longer” stories and one for brief interstitials.

Sam Register has been at Warner Bros Animation since 2007 and he’s been at Cartoon Network for 10 years prior to that, meaning he’s been on the Warner terrain for about 30 years. No doubt a loss for WB’s animation studios. Wonder who the replacement will be.

At this point, I just hope Sam takes this chance to do something meaningful for animation. Maybe start a new studio of his own. I'll tell you all what's happening. The looming merger and the lawsuit of it is putting WB in such an uncertain state that anyone currently in exec roles is pretty much screwed even if it miraculously doesn't go through. So they are leaving on their own terms and jumping off the ship while they can.
