I had to think about this for a while, and I sincerely think my answer is Final Fantasy VI. This game was my life in the mid-to-late 90s and engrossed me more than anything I've played at that point. I've been playing games as far back as 1992 (as far as I can remember), but this one changed me.

Managed to finish the new Onimusha game last night. Fulfilling gameplay. Soundtrack’s kinda weak. It was much longer than I thought it was going to be. Close to 28 hours including all the side quests and most of those kinda dragged. Great return to form, though.

Collectively, I think OoT Remake looks perfectly fine, I'm just not sold on the updated character designs, Link being the major culprit. He's very busy, and his face looks like a porcelain doll. It's something I'm gonna notice less of when I start playing, but I think it could've been better.
