So the Ammonite Order of architecture exists just enough to get its own Wikipedia page. This is from Gideon Mantell's house Castle Place on Lewes High St, designed by Amon Wilds.

Bombshell Atlantic piece where Goldberg accidentally got looped into a Signal group of Trump's top brass preparing the Houthi strikes. I’d urge everyone, including economic EU policymakers, to read it to grasp the raw, unvarnished grievance team Trump has with Europe.

In 25 years of covering national security, I’ve never seen a story like this: Senior Trump officials discussed planning for the U.S. attack on Yemen in a Signal group--and inadvertently added the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

Legal eagles: Meta are using pirated books from LibGen to train an AI model. There's a legal action in the US which Meta are defending on the basis of 'fair use'. There's no direct equivalent to fair use in the UK, though, right? Fair dealing is narrower.

As I hear RJK Jr telling us that the measles vaccine is as bad as the measles, I'm thinking about this piece from David Runciman back in 2017 in which he said: www.chronicle.com/article/the-...
Democracies can accommodate quite a lot of irrationalism. What is not clear is whether they can
accommodate it when it emanates from the center. There are plenty of other societies in the
world where conspiracy theorizing has become a governing philosophy: Putin’s Russia,
Erdogan’s Turkey, increasingly Modi’s India as well. These societies mimic functioning
democracies in some respects, but they also increasingly resemble their authoritarian
alternatives.
