I strongly believe schools should bring children together rather than try to impose one religious identity on them. If you agree - please add your name and call on the Education Secretary to introduce inclusive assemblies for all, and to keep dangerous Christian Nationalism OUT of our schools.

Trump signs a ‘constitution’ doc with AI (or so called ‘Super Intelligence’) leaders as the President of the Unites States. Remember, and this is important: Trump & his people are super stupid. They just have access to the White House and country apparatus, and are temporary. It’s all meaningless.
A screenshot of a social media post by Donald J. Trump displaying a document with four signatures. On the left is a large signature above the name "Donald J. Trump, President of the Unites States" (with a typo in "Unites"). On the right are three smaller signatures corresponding to Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Greg Brockman (OpenAI), and Elon Musk (XAI).

Laura Kuenssberg, a BBC journalist, is paid about 135% more than the UK Prime Minister. That is wrong. It’s also bad etiquette to point at the interviewee, but she seemed quite concerned she would soon need to pay a bit more tax because of Burnham’s plan for social care. #BBCLauraK

I’m all for rejoining the EU but I don’t believe there’s any real danger now of the electoral map turning turquoise, regardless. 1. Reform trails the Tories in some polls now. 2. Farage is more unpopular than he’s ever been & could be gone by next GE. 3. Reform’s popularity has always been inflated.

On the BBC News Katya Adler has just described Germany, where the far right AFD keep winning elections, as entering 'uncharted political territory'. Hmmm. Where Germany is concerned I think that territory is pretty well charted.

One of the most influential voices of the American Revolution: Thomas Paine. Paine's incendiary critiques of tyranny, organised religion, slavery, and extreme inequality, have kept his work on humanist bookshelves for over two centuries. #HumanistBookshelf
‘Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.’

The British public should have a sense of pride, and maybe even trust, in the country’s infrastructure, but since Thatcher sold everything she knew about, there’s been distrust and resentment. Public infrastructure should be publicly owned. GBR is a good start for the journey to that.

Received another Labour marketing email purportedly from @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social asking for money following the £72m recently donated to Reform. It’s ridiculous. Donations from all 264,750 Labour members would need to average ~£275 for Labour to match Reform’s 2x £36m donations alone.
Except from another marketing email from Labour asking for money:
When I saw that two crypto-billionaires had given Reform £72 million, I had the same thought you probably did:
How do you compete with that?
Then I watched the response from
Labour supporters.
People donated what they could. £10.
£20. More if they were able.
One person can't match £72 million.
But thousands of us, standing together, can make sure Labour is as well resourced for the fight ahead as it is possible to be.
And that is exactly what started happening.
£72 million can feel overwhelming. But we cannot let it overwhelm us.
So, James, I'm asking you to join the Labour supporters who have already. stepped up, and make this response even bigger.

Starmer has many critics, but I liked him. About his resignation, I think I would do the same in his position — he now has the experience of being a PM, and that’s wasted being an MP. It would also be hard to sit among peers who wanted you gone.
