Friends! It's the feast day of St. Hildegard of Bingen, an abbess, polymath, mystic, & eel truth-teller. Medieval thinkers agreed that eels reproduce asexually. But Hildegard suggested that eels mate at sea, where we can't watch. No one listened to her. But she was right! 1/2 🗃️🧪

20 years ago I knew a guy who worked part time, minimum wage, as a dishwasher. He was able to afford rent and a car (both shitty but functional), concerts, weed, etc. It's interesting to think of how that kind of dirtbag lifestyle is mostly just gone.

It is critical that, if you are a US citizen, you check your voter registration every so often. I check mine every two weeks in the lead-up to an election, because the GOP is very sneaky about removing people with little fanfare. Go here: vote.gov/register/ to check. I'm good. For now.
