At UCSF we have one of the most collegial HN groups around. If you're a #radonc who'd like to be a part of it, send us a cover letter and CV! We'd love to meet some people during ASTRO!

a small dog wearing a black and orange bandana, collar, and leash sits on a leafy dirt path and looks up at us with large brown eyes. she's white with brown spots on her ears and eyes. she has brown speckles on her left paw, and her right paw is actually a bright orange webbed duck foot. she likes to have fun with her prosthetics.

Love the American Radium Society meeting. #ARS2025 Where you can actually talk and learn from everyone there. For instance at this meeting I was taught that it is cool to wear brown shoes. Can you pick out the two faculty members in this photograph?

Fun fact: If someone quotes a post of yours in a way that is unwelcome (as is commonplace on Twitter/X) there is a tool to combat the unwanted attention. Simply click the three dot menu on the quote post & click "Detach quote". This removes your post from their quote post. Useful to know, do share!

Emilie du Châtelet really deserves a long thread. 🧪 👩‍🔬 She developed Leibniz's ideas about vis via (kinetic energy), publicly demolished a prominent French scientist who disagreed, produced the definitive French translation of Newton's Principia, and said this to her nemesis the King of Prussia:
"Judge for my own merits, or lack of them, but do not look upon me as a mere appendage to this great renowned scholar or that, that I am in my own right a whole person, responsible to myself alone for all that I am, all that I say, all that I do. It may be that there are metaphysicians and philosophers whose learning is greater than mine, although I have not met them. Yet, they are but frail humans, too, and have their own faults; so, when I add the sum total of my graces, I confess that I am inferior to no one."
