I can’t believe we’re back to medieval level conflicts like “local merchant princes attempt to bribe theologians and the Pope’s advisors so the Pope will issue a favorable proclaimation”

A digital illustration of Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers wearing her homemade Topsy the Elephant costume. Bubble letters over her head read ‘Maybe it will happen today’. Everything is kind of funky looking because I put a heavy chromatic aberration filter on it.

what blows my mind about everybody neglecting human experiences in favor of being on their phone 14 hours a day is that like 95% of you suck at being on the phone. can’t post for shit, 100 unread wikipedia articles in your tabs, getting groomed on discord. you are not good at it

A digital illustration done in a black and white graphite style with white highlight on a gray grainy paper background of a hand from the front in a fingers-crossed gesture. From the heel of the palm and down the wrist is lettering reading, ‘maybe it will happen today’. The hand is cropped beetle the lettering and surrounded with decorative rays and circles.

Cartoon of two identical castle towns on opposite sides of a river, which are at war, labeled our robust business model VS their unsustainable silliness. On the left various things are labeled our profitable expansion, our scaling to meet real demand, our huge addressable market, our visionary founder. On the right the same things are labeled their reckless spending, their crazy amounts of compute, their lack of customers, their foolish hype man.

I would 100% support a law that says if any digital platform removes your access to media you paid for then they are required to refund you the entirety of the original purchase price. That would solve this whole thing in a hurry.

Ок, я знал, что Леон Термен изобрёл терменвокс, и знал, что в 1950-х американскому посольству в москве подарили герб с жучком, но не знал, что жучок был изобретён Терменым и как раз по аналогии с терменвоксом.

Dolly Parton writing “I will always love you“ and “Jolene“ in the same day is mind blowing.

It’s like if da Vinci finished the Mona Lisa then turned around in the same day and wrote “Jolene“

AI is a scourge. But it is important not to trust "AI detectors". I lost regular freelancing work because my client insisted I used AI to write copy (I didn't, but their AI detecting software said I did). This is a great thread with an excellent example of why these detectors cannot be trusted.

A digital illustration of Statler and Waldorf, the sarcastic old man muppets, seen sitting in their opera box at the Muppet Theatre and heckling whatever is happening onstage. Probably Fozzie’s act. Starler is in the right with the big chin. Waldorf is in the left with the mustache and heavy lidded eyes. But the are almost always shown in the reverse order of their names. There are red curtains behind them and along with some bits of filigree in the front of their box are some brass (?) letters spelling out ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

A digital simulation of a work and weathered two color relief print on toned paper. A black goat with big horns curving back in a somewhat exaggerated running or prancing pose is turning his head to look back over his shoulder. There is a pole topped with a small inverted cross crooked in one of his front legs and attached to the pole, streaming over the goat, is a red banner bearing some crusty looking blackletter script reading ‘Maybe it will happen today’
