There’s no contradiction between this kind of pornographic misogyny and puritanical misogyny of the old Christian right. Both use sexuality to enact men’s domination over women. That one sect forces sex and the other prohibits it is largely a matter of taste.

I have a couple of boomer relatives who were in a pattern for a bit where they'd tell me "we're planning to <enter into dubious agreement/contract/scheme> with <acquaintance/relative/neighbor> & then next conversation it would be "<acquaintance/relative/neighbor> is mad at us, we don't know why"
