Using my tax money, the state of Tennessee attempted to lethality inject a woman with a known vascular condition using the doctor who botched the state's most recent execution. After two attempts Christa Pike did not die, but she does have brain damage. Call it what it is: state-sanctioned torture.

Meet Civil War veteran Norman Taylor (1830-1911) who ran 6-day races in his stockings. Called the "Vermont Pie Eater" for his diet of pie, cheese, & tea. If Taylor, age 65, could run 427 miles in his last race, I can finish writing my books in progress--including this &^%$ one on pie in America.
Lithograph image of a bearded man standing in his stocking feet. In his proper left hand he holds from the top a United States flag attached to a stick that extends from beneath the flag to the floor. The man appears to be wearing suspenders. On his chest hang three medals. The caption beneath the image reads: "NORMAN TAYLOR, THE 'PIE EATER." CHAMPION TWELVE-HOUR-PER-DAY RUNNER." He does appear a bit fatigued.
