One day people will stop unironically using the intentionally ironic phrase "technically correct, the best kind of correct". A, the joke was to mock bureaucrats who believe more in technicalities than practicality. B, It's not even true. Most people will never care a tomato is botanically a fruit.

There are ways to trim your videogame development budget, and then there are *ways* to trim your videogame development budget.

Screenshot from the videogame Grey Skies. A female character stands in front of an indoor swimming pool. A sign by the pool says PLEASE DO NOT SWIM, and, in smaller letters, "There isn't an animation for it."

As much as I wish I didn't have to miss the second half of Zeldathon, now I'm at Tekko running tech for the Steel City Speedsters stage! We're there today through Sunday raising money for Assemble Pittsburgh. Watch at twitch.tv/steelcityspeedsters, or head to Hall A if you're on site!

I'm a bit late saying this, but I'm at Zeldathon - for now, anyway, since I'm going back to Pittsburgh tomorrow to ensure everything is all ready for SCS at Tekko. I'm reading donations right now for Brandino's Wand of Gamelon segment and will be playing in tonight's Legends of the Forest Temple!

It is so good to be at another GDQ.

020

stump @ PGX @stump.tv · 04/07/2026

I also passed the vicinity of the DLCC, and entirely unsurprisingly, there were a *lot* of people out and about even at 4:30 AM. (I imagine this is helped by it being the only time of day that it's not ludicrously hot out.)

I will forever laugh at solo devs that put an AI disclosure in their game on Steam that says "look I'm a solo dev. There's no possible way for me, a solo dev, to make a game solo without AI" and it's like brother so help me do you know how many 100s of games from solo devs that don't have it???

LRT: Legit, if I see things that are not your pronouns in the pronouns field of your bio, my only first impression of you is that you are a vile monster and you will get ZERO grace from me. Cut that shit the fuck out, it is NOT funny and most importantly NOT okay in any way.

this goes for online spaces, too. if you use the pronouns field for things that clearly are not your pronouns, that immediately reflects poorly on your character and many people (including me) will judge you for it!

If it fits in well enough to escape superficial notice and you didn't do something to actively prevent the game from shipping with it, it was never a temporary asset.

On a similar note: Want a new category of something? Great. Show up with a run of that category - a run by *you*, mind you - and use that to make your case.
