Since the Hormuz crisis, EU gas prices are up 132% and oil 52%. Electricity is up 44%, after falling through spring. Every boiler, car and furnace that switches to electricity is less exposed to the energy crisis. Electrification is increasingly energy security.

Dunno, but the fact that no arrest were made either in Dover or in Portsmouth kind of looks like they are absolutely tolerating this behaviour
Sarah Jones added that "work is ongoing to establish any lessons and to ensure that intelligence is shared at pace" across law enforcement systems.
Jones said the protestors had began to disperse at 4am and no arrests were made on the night.
"There can be no excuse for threatening behaviour or serious disruption," Jones said.
"Disorder of any kind will never be tolerated."

They’re just pouring more fuel onto the fire. Why are the racists consistently called legitimate, whilst in a world that’s burning people who protest over climate change and genocide are not being afforded even a smidgeon of the same grace?
Some protestors showed "intimidating and thuggish behaviour" this weekend, Sarah Jones, the policing minister said.
But she added she did not seek to
"minimise" legitimate concerns people had about small boat crossings.
"This government has taken action to fix the broken system we inherited and crack down on the people smugglers," Jones said, pointing out that system-wide arrests were up 70%.

100% This. Being able to charge for 2-12 hours at 7-11KW at a hotel, restaurant or city centre/park and ride car park is incredibly valuable. Much more so than a pair of always ICE-d 90p Instavolts outside a McDonalds. The UK motorway network is mature. Ubiquitous AC destination charging is the gap.

It’s still an effective monopoly though, as railway tracks are the limiting factor. If you need to be at a place, by a time, you can’t choose your train company. Unlike travel modes on the same route, where there is enough capacity that it doesn’t really matter, and there is actual competition.
