It's amazing how some people dehumanize others simply for choosing a transportation method that doesn't involve a car. They also hate traffic and other drivers, while simultaneously seething with rage at anyone walking, cycling, or proposing we fund better public transit.

Giving people money to "to downsize or ditch their cars" would just result in other people buying cars. The only way to reduce the number of cars in a city like New York is to change curb regulations or take the space and use it for other things, like bike parking, bus lanes, and garbage containers.
Equitable Vehicle Transition Incentives: For residents looking to downsize or ditch their cars, the city should offer robust tax credits or trade-in incentives so owners do not have to pay out-of-pocket differences, easing congestion naturally rather than punitively.

Eternal wisdom from Mr. Money Moustache: www.mrmoneymustache.com/2013/04/22/c...
"But there’s more to it than that. When you use a 3500-pound car to transport your 150-pound self around, 96 percent of the weight of that clump of matter is the car. You’re moving 25 times more junk around than you need to, and thus using 25 times more energy to do it.

Imagine that you’re hungry for lunch, so you go to a restaurant. But you don’t just order yourself a blackened salmon salad for $15.00. You order twenty five salads for $375.00! Then, you eat one of them, and leave the other 24 blackened salmon salads, $360.00 worth of food, to get collected by the waiter and slopped unceremoniously into a big black garbage bag. All that fine wild-caught Alaskan Salmon, lovingly seasoned and grilled. All the fine crumbles of feta cheese, the mango salsa, diced green onion, shaved peppers, rich zingy dressing, and everything else the chef worked on for hours – plopped into the slimy garbage bag. This is exactly what you are doing, every time you drive!"

Speeding doesn't actually save you meaningful time. All it really accomplishes is aggressively increasing the chances that you kill yourself or someone else outside your vehicle. It's a mathematically flawed, entirely selfish risk.

Suburbia is the most devastating scam ever pulled. Millions completely brainwashed into believing that a driving is freedom and cities are scary. You should all go to jail for what you’ve done.
Elizabeth Holmes telling us that we’re going to love driving everywhere all the time and then in the next frame Nathan Fielder looking confused when she says why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.

the car oil and other capitalistic industries forced us and tricked us into some sort of purgatory we make sure our lawns surround our house so our neighbors can’t get too close, then complain about a lack of community

it took like three generations and you completely ruined society

carbrain traffic "engineers" are why this pedestrian crosswalk (really car infrastructure, to help drivers avoid murdering people who have a right to cross) is flat with the road, to optimize vehicle flow and comfort, while pedestrians have to step down into a huge puddle that gets their feet wet

When people say things like this they are advocating putting the lives of other people at risk. Blocking bike lanes makes it more likely someone will be killed or injured. All because drivers are entitled little babies.
When in doubt park in a bike lane.
Maybe if they didn’t take away so many parking spots you wouldn’t have to.

This traffic calming is a good step! It is disgusting how drivers interpret a crash, if they notice it at all, as if the resulting traffic jam is the main problem and therefore texting or speeding right afterwards is okay. Then ignore it entirely as they speed by the next day.
