I remember when we used to evaluate black swan Intel reports and the source reliability before planning complex operations based on them. Even if time-sensitive reporting, why would you expend manpower before officials 'dug deeper'?

And I assume there was no collision between the state AG, SoS (defendants) and Onder (plaintiff), right? /s I'd like the appeals court to consider whether this is like the bad faith Trump v IRS "settlement," and issue sanctions if so. Then the US House & Senate should impeach & remove Judge Clark.

The payoff to Flynn was a forerunner of what Trump wanted to do with his $1.8B slush fund to pay insurrectionists who beat up cops at the Capitol on Jan. 6. Republicans are pretending that shameful idea is “dead,” but they could reinstate it after Todd Blanche gets confirmed as AG. 4/4🧵

Lots that is grotesque here, but I think the key thing to notice is the zero-sum worldview: if we take in a 5yo immigrant, this somehow displaces or harms at 5yo American kid. There's a finite pool of "American" to distribute. A zero-sum worldview is the molten core of reactionary thinking.

"In my few days in Minnesota, I’ve been witness to countless scenes that remind me of moments I’ve seen during previous trips covering conflicts around the world," photojournalist @cengizyar.com writes. "The wars we’ve carried out as a nation abroad have come home." More: propub.li/4acxEeY
Article excerpt: In my few days in Minnesota, I’ve been witness to countless scenes that remind me of moments I’ve seen during previous trips covering conflicts around the world. I watched heavily armored federal units roll through quiet neighborhoods. In a grocery store parking lot, angry residents screamed at agents, demanding they leave the city. Masked and armed government agents pointed weapons toward me and some protesters during an encounter in the middle of the afternoon. Curious guests in a hotel elevator wondered why I was carrying around a medical pack and gas mask. Local residents thanked me for being there to witness the situation. A drunk man at a hotel bar cursed at me, saying the media was at fault. The wars we’ve carried out as a nation abroad have come home.
