Just saying, the Eagles need help at WR and Howie loves nothing more than a former blue chip prospect who can be a reclamation project at low cost, but I wonder if getting stomped by JAX tomorrow would make it untenable.

The problem is the bullpen is such a crapshoot, we have the rarest part (an elite closer) locked down and still can't figure the rest out. They really lucked into that 2008 bullpen with pretty much the entire bullpen having a career year all at once.

PSU's largest Whiteout defeat is 16 points vs a juggernaut Alabama team, so I'm not expecting a blowout. I do think they'll figure some things out but have a hard time imagining us winning. 31-20 USC.

Isaias definitely a gusty hurricane. Lots of stations with gusts north of 100 mph so far, with gusts topping almost 120 mph roughly 25 miles north of Pensacola. Not many storm surge stations in the worst hit area east of Fort Walton/Destin but Panama City Beach hit nearly 6 feet.

Howie's made some good moves and some bad moves, certainly more of the former, but even most of the bad moves you could at least see the rationale behind them. Trading for Andy Dalton and wedging him into a bizarre backup QB competition was nonsensical on day one, a total unforced error.

While all eyes are understandably on Isaias, a much rarer event is possible in San Diego where a tropical storm may make landfall on Sunday. This almost never happens because waters are usually too cold to support tropical activity near SoCal, but strong El Niño+global warming says otherwise.

It's a good value trade by Howie and likely the right thing to do for the future of the organization. It's just that coming right on the heels of Lane Johnson's retirement, it pretty clearly sends the message that they're writing off this season and that's a bummer as a fan.
