1-0 Tampa after 20 minutes. A decent start fell apart mostly because PHI again couldn't connect on passes in all three zones. They continue to look like a team that was put together two weeks ago as opposed to one that brought back basically the whole roster from last year.

Better breakouts so far from the Flyers in this one, but already two penalties in a little over 12 minutes, and one of them was an o-zone penalty (Tippett). Saturday was a little weird because of how tightly it was called, but man, just too many PHI penalties to start this year.

Speaking about the Flyers, their issue is pretty obvious: they're an absolute mess w/the puck on their stick. Pretty much the whole team right now. In-sync passing is nonexistent in all three zones. And if you can't pass, you can't move up ice, & you can't get in on the attack.

1-1 after 40 minutes. The Devils basically had the puck the entire stanza with the exception of a couple solid cycle shifts, and while Joseph Woll did all he could, eventually he couldn't hold back the flood of NJ shots. This level of play is not going to cut it for the Flyers.

The Devils are definitely controlling play, and Woll has been very sharp. But defensively, this has been a lot more like last year's Flyers than last night's Flyers. Most of the shots are coming from the outside & are clear-sight. They cleaned up the d-zone stuff.

Flyers haven't given up a goal yet -- Joseph Woll has been sharp -- but they still largely look like they're skating in mud. Very little puck possession time, lot of backpedaling. Most plays with the puck are at least a tick off, if not more.

Both David Jiricek and Garrett Wilson are on the ice for warmups, but Rick Tocchet strongly implied a couple hours ago that he's not changing the lineup from what it was in Game 1 (aside from Woll starting in net). We'll see what combos they run in a couple minutes.
