My Top 4 for #ShareMondays2026 are: @dmrippin.bsky.social @dutchnewchurch.bsky.social @ian-mcc.bsky.social @ronm123photo.bsky.social A really tough one narrowing down from a superb selection put forward this week. All very different but I’ve tried to go with ones that moved me in some way.

There is a delightful sense of flow in this image, the ethereal nature of the mist shrouding the birch creates a real sense of intrigue and mood.
It’s a simple yet complex image that pulls you in to allow your mind to wander and add to the story yourself.
The muted and softened tones are delightful.

Another simple yet complex image that draws you in to the intricacies of soft detail.
The harmonious tones are warm and gently inviting adding to a beautifully immersive feel here.

Bold, graphic, strong and really well seen. The intersecting lines, shapes and patterns are magical and the little details of the grass breaking the rhythmic lines on the ground are a great little detour from the perfection of the pattern and form.

A cracking mono conversion and the well seen moment of the person with the bike breaking the linearity perfectly.

A delightfully serene and peaceful moment, you can sense and feel the calm and stillness the heron exudes as it patiently scans the water for a fish.
The colour palette of the early morning emphasis the calm and stillness with some lovely moments of light in the reflection. Such a calming image that slows us down.
A lovely environmental moment of a heron at its most serene whilst it watches for fish.

A fabulous example of using simple urban elements to create an eye catching abstract in a lesson on compositional excellence! It reminds me of the kind of challenges we were set in technical drawing at art college. Aspects of this image can underpin the way we look at composing any scene or subject!

Another example of compositional excellence! Every element of the scene has been thought through with such care. The crisp detail is present in every area of the image, allowing the viewer to become immersed in the scene. The foreground details are beautifully observed, especially vertical elliptical pool that draws the viewer’s eye upwards. Finished off with that moody slate toned sky with clouds that wrap around the far side of the highest peak, it’s imposing yet inviting!

The ability to capture birds in flight in such exquisite detail comes from years of studying a species, understanding its behaviour and knowing exactly when to press that shutter button! And it’s beautifully presented. I urge everyone to view the video sequence and stunning series that Jonny has also shared of this encounter.

Another great example of how to use compositional elements to link a scene together and tell a story. Damien is always clever with shadows from architectural elements, but to get a cyclist riding down that central shadow line whilst wearing light blue that links to the graffiti on the bridge and the blue sky must have taken a bit of patience and great timing!
