No wheels but still a winner. Ash Sutton won the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship title at Silverstone this past weekend, for a record-breaking fifth time. A photograph of his car in the pits as the mechanics were getting car #116 ready for action. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday

The Black Path This footpath over the West Coast railway in Rugby always offers wonderful photographic opportunities. The black path name comes from the black cinders that used to line the route. #fsprintmonday #sharemondays2026 #streetphotography #urbanscene

A cyclist on the Black Path in Rugby which is a footbridge over the West Coast Railway line. The name comes from the cinders that lined the path. This path allowed workers to walk to the British Thomson-Houston (BTH) factory which was north of the railway. Despite the grim design, this pedestrian walkway remains a popular walking and cycling link..

The Red Coast glowing in the early morning sun. Locked away in those res sandstone cliffs is a landscape lost in time. This is where the ancestors of dinosaurs once roamed. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #sidmouth #southdevon

The Red Coast near to Sidmouth in South Devon glows in the early morning sunrise. This is part of the West Country. I am looking west onto what is termed the Jurassic Coast. 235 million years ago during the Triassic period, the earliest ancestors of the dinosaurs lived. Locked away in the red sandstone of these cliffs are the remains of a landscape lost in time.

I took part in an IgersBirmingham photographic Instameet at Highbury Hall, Birmingham. The house is the home of the Chamberlain family that did so much for the City of Birmingham. There was so much to photograph. I went on a hidden tour of the building. Highbury Hall has 60 rooms of which only around 12 are used. I enjoyed taking this picture of the tour on the balcony in the centre of the house. There is much to see with the level of interest shown by various people on the tour.

I would love time to slow down during the spring months. Then we could take in all the changes that happen before the summer. This is Wychwood wood a small hidden woodland in Knowle, Solihull. Wychwood is a wet Alder woodland. The trees thrive in the wet damp conditions. Every spring the wild garlic springs to life and creates a beautiful white carpet around the trees.

So uplifting to see the bluebells arriving and this is early. Such beautiful light shining on the blue carpet.

The sharp and piercing eye of the hare holds your attention in this study of a beautiful animal

The snow falling in the forest. The scene is magical with the diagonal lines created by the snow contrasting with the vertical lines of the trees.

The female fox moving through the scene lines up with the rows of daffodils. Such a lovely composition.

The old canal lies quietly sleeping while nature changes around it. Afternoon sunlight creates delicate lines across the water. The canal is part of the Swift Valley Nature Reserve in Rugby. Overgrown vegetation around the canal has recently been cleared, revealing a fresh view of the old bridge spanning the water. Rugby has many disused canals in the area that have become havens for nature and wildlife. This photograph shows a disused arm of the Oxford Canal. Taken with an iPhone and captured in Apple RAW.

Centenary Square, Birmingham The combination of too much rain and the appearance of the sun created a wonderful reflection of the buildings in Centenary Square. #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday #appicoftheweek #Birmingham

Centenary Square has been cleared of the recent fairground installations that were put up over Christmas and the New Year. Now the reflecting pool can be seen; however, the City Council have not yet turned on the fountains. The recent rain has been nonstop, but it has allowed the water to fill the square.
This iPhone picture, taken with the wide-angle setting, captures all the buildings. From left to right: the REP, the Library of Birmingham, the Octagon, Baskerville House, the soon-to-be-demolished Copthorne Hotel, and the new office buildings in Paradise Circus.
I will have to come back next year, as more skyscrapers are planned for the space between the Octagon and Paradise Circus.

Taken with my iPhone this small pond may be found at Baddesley Clinton which is owned by the National Trust. The house may be seen in the lower left corner. The trees point upwards and add to the symmetry. I turned the picture around by 180 degrees to get the effect I wanted.

First snowdrops on a misty day at St Michael's Church, Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire. #snowdrops #mist #sharemondays2026 #fsprintmonday

St Michael’s Church is adjacent to Baddesley Clinton (NT). The church provides an excellent backdrop to the spring flowers. The first snowdrops have appeared, and a low-lying mist covered the surrounding countryside. Taking the photograph was a challenge, as the camera was positioned on a low tripod beneath a fence. I managed to find a small patch free of snowdrops where I could place the camera. Crouched uncomfortably under the fence, I then had to carefully align the shot.
