Is this (and a couple of similar examples) governments FINALLY finding their voice on defending the court that they themselves created? The silence in face of Trump’s threats has until now has been deafening, extraordinary

I am now in surreal position of changing vote on TWO parties because of their terrible Israel policies. — Labour was horribly silent on Gaza crimes. Now… Greens career madly in other direction, making it impossible to vote for them in this week’s by-election. Why is sanity not an option?

Exactly! — and both of them are looking at Mamdani also. Burnham has also shown that choosing to do the right thing must be done confidently, not apologetically. (Bad guys always knew that when doing the racist/xenophobic wrong thing — but it works in the other direction, too)

This is a REALLY interesting piece by @thehopeguy.eurosky.social — about how hope can help change narratives & confront dark politics better than hopelessness & anger. (Some relevance for Burnham’s successes — and Greens — also in UK now.)

It was, as Darth says, a complete surprise, although… Soviet foreign minister Molotov did describe Poland as “ugly offspring of Versailles treaty” after carving it up in 1939. Unimaginable that the right to exist of an established independent state would be challenged by military force today
