The power got cut off to get bees out of the local transformer, and all I heard from next door was "ah me banana breads!"

Two beekeepers and two electrical workers open a transformer box in a residential estate. One of the beekeeper and one of the electrical workers are in beesuits. The 2nd electrical worker finds this hilarious and will take a photo of his colleague while laughing loudly shortly.

Don't let this "poor me shut down" narrative overpower the actual story - figures from multiple sources say that he's wrong. He can feel bad about being wrong but that doesn't make him immune from criticism about being wrong. And we should criticise what he says and does. Because he is wrong.

What he's calling "shut down" is people calmly and clearly pointing out the actual numbers which disprove the point he made. That's not being shut down, that's being corrected. And I guess that doesn't feel nice but it's not you being "shut down". It's just actual facts.

He said what he said on national TV and in national newspapers. That's the opposite of shut down, that's actively amplified. He wasn't shut down, he was broadcasted. What he's calling "shut down" is people responding to what he said, which most of us did not have the same national platform to do.

It turns out I'm actually not done ranting about this. He complains that he was "shut down in November" when he tried to discuss this, implying that he had a legitimate point that he simply couldn't make. Every part of that is untrue. First of all, he wasn't shut down because we read what he said.
