Btw setting yarn on fire isn't just me being me, it's a well-known thing in fibre arts to identify unlabelled yarn whose content cannot be inferred otherwise. If burns and smells of burnt hair, it's an animal fibre, if it burns and smells fine, it's cotton or linen, and if it melts, it's synthetic.

Did the burn test on some deep stash mystery yarn. It both stank of burned hair * and* melted a bit, implying wool/acrylic blend. But my question to chemists (and/or resourceful fibre artists) is this: is there a way of getting more granular information regarding the ratio of wool to acrylic?

Two little frogs hidden in a stem. Genus Dendropsophus. Spent yesterday at the Jardin Botanico del Quindio. What an incredible place! These were living in the butterfly house, the best of its kind I’ve ever seen.
