„Dr. Hans-Thomas Tillschneider, Landtagsvizepräsident der AfD-Fraktion, sollte heute in Vertretung von Landtagspräsident Tobias Rausch am Gedenken an den Amoklauf von Halle vor sieben Jahren teilnehmen. Als sich Dr. Hans-Thomas Tillschneider der Synagoge näherte, versperrte ihm jedoch eine Gruppe linker Studenten den Weg. Die Menge bezeichnete ihn als ‚Rechtsextremist‘, beleidigte ihn als ‚Nazi‘ und behauptete wahrheitswidrig, er hätte sich gegen jüdisches Leben in Deutschland ausgesprochen. Nachdem sowohl die Vertreter der städtischen Ordnungsbehörde als auch die Polizei trotz mehrfacher Bitte nichts unternahmen, um Dr. Hans-Thomas Tillschneider Zutritt zu verschaffen, verließ der Landtagsvize unverrichteter Dinge den Ort. Dr. Hans-Thomas Tillschneider erklärt dazu: ‚(…) Dass ich in pöbelhafter Weise daran gehindert und dabei noch als Nazi beschimpft wurde, verdeutlicht, wie wenig Respekt diese Studenten vor der Volksvertretung haben. Zugleich wurde das Andenken an die unschuldigen Opfer des Amoklaufs dadurch gestört. Um die Würde des Amtes zu wahren, entschloss ich mich schließlich, die unwürdige Szenerie zu verlassen.
Der Vorfall hat deutlich gezeigt, wer in diesem Land für gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt steht und wer nicht. Im Übrigen lege ich Wert auf die Feststellung, dass ich mich niemals weder explizit noch implizit gegen jüdisches Leben ausgesprochen habe, im Gegenteil. Ich habe stets betont, dass es eine jüdisch-deutsche Kultur gibt, die Teil unserer deutschen Kultur ist. In diesem Sinne lade ich hiermit Max Privorozki, den Vorsitzenden der jüdischen Gemeinde Halle, ein, sich mit Tobias Rausch und mir auf ein klärendes Gespräch im Landtag zu treffen.‘“
