#SpoonieAuthChat I do have Neurodivergent characters in my stories and books! Not all of them are, but many are. I am some sort of ND for sure, so that ends up in my writing. I also want to, in future writing, represent different types of ND (without tokenism, of course).

Yes! Although it's not addressed in the book, Levi is def on the spectrum. It's particularly evident in social interactions where he relies on scripts. He's most comfortable when he's in Prophet Mode, using canned replies. & moving his body is a stim, which is why he runs so much. #SpoonieAuthChat

Absolutely! In my 1st book, both MCs have CPTSD & 1 has hypervigilant perceptiveness. A side char has ADHD but only a few ppl will catch the signs. 😅 In my WIP, my FMC has dyscalculia & anxiety disorder, & my MMC has scent sensitivity & context-specific dyspraxia. #SpoonieAuthChat #WriteSky

Depends where. The area that's community-based has accommodations and aids with no access restrictions because the community provides and cares for its members. Most other areas have accommodations for gods, but humans get the crappy stuff and are an afterthought. #SpoonieAuthChat

#SpoonieAuthChat Oh of course! As a disabled person myself, I abhor that idea that my worth is tied to my disability or even cureability. My main characters are both neurodivergent and on different levels of affectedness of it. My FMC works with the chronically ill. It’s a natural part of life.

#SpoonieAuthChat In The Last Firstborn, Levi lives in a mega tower that has a lot of accommodations! There are audio signals and voice commands for blind and low-vision people to navigate the tower and its computer. Levi has a guide cane, but mostly doesn't even need it until he leaves the tower.

#SpoonieAuthChat Sept. 22nd Accommodations are built into my fantasy. In my high or more traditional fantasies I try to plan things w/universal design. Many places will have ramps instead of stairs, or accessibility tools freely available. I like keeping universal design in mind when I world build.

#SpoonieAuthChat I write fantasy & hate trying to pin down a subgenre. I don't know if contemporary fantasy is a thing, but some should probably be that rather than 'urban.' Some of what is probably science fantasy, splitting hairs between fantasy & scifi. And there's some epic, I guess.
