I don't think Godzilla X Sonic is as bad as other Sonic fans are making it out to be, but it definitely feels like it was written by someone who only has a surface level understanding of the Sonic cast. Knuckles feels ripped out of Boom era. Sonic feels more like the Classic era stuff IDW makes.
