New Zealand cricket is in a bit of a mess. It sounds like they can't sell their franchised NZ20 and are likely to have to postpone launching that again. The Super Smash may be reprieved but no fixtures have been announced. Richard Hadlee has called for the whole board to resign. Doesn't look good.

Bemused Saturday shoppers and motorists watched on as the White Coppice cricket club took their victory bus through the streets of Chorley. Having nearly folded in 2017 it marked a turnaround of fortunes for the club which is now thriving. 🏏👏

Cricket Victoria have produced a booklet on their proposed BBL "privitisation". That it's all about the BBL with WBBL being tagged on is made clear on p6. You won't learn anything interesting from reading it, except the sort of management speak that passes for analysis, most ludicrously on p9.

Harman is potentially a really good under the radar signing, especially in short form cricket. Only Laura Harris scored at a higher rate in the Blast last year - 162.6 and with an average of 28.8. Her bowling might get more usage from Glamorgan than it did with Hants too.

@liebcricket.com According to the Cricket Australia app, they seem to have adopted a good strategy to do that.

Odd finish to the West Indies innings as they plod from 214/3 after 40 overs, with 300 in reach to 244/5 after 48. They finally find some runs in the last 2 overs to reach 271 which should be well beyond Zimbabwe's chasing powers.

West Indies bowled out for 139, thanks to a decent knock from Munisar whose technique looked a lot better than many of the batters ahead of her. Zimbabwe have historically stuggled under pressure but this should be well within their capacity to chase.

The loss of Beckenham cricket ground is a significant one, particularly in the women's game where it has been a historically important ground and it remains one that has seen plenty of use in the new professional era. Horrible for the New Beckenham cricket club too, of course.

Australia A complete a 3-0 T20 series win over India A. Unlike the first two, where Australia were clearly better, India were well on top before a collapse for the ages. If main reason for A teams is to suggest someone should be in the national team, I don't think anyone on either side did enough.

Another stand off in the Asia Cup as the BCCI refuse for an India team to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, and the ACC refuse to have anyone else present it. Don't think it reflects well on either side, but Naqvi does seem to poison everything he touches - India quitting the ACC would be bad.
