Resurfacing from my Hermit Mode to share a moment of celebration. Recently I won 1st prize in a photo contest co-sponsored by The Icon, a print lab in Los Angeles, for this photo. They printed and hung it in their gallery space, and today I visited. Such a great feeling. #PersonalMoment #Hooray

I'm not going to lie, I fell in love with with this cloud. I must have taken a hundred pictures as it sailed past over the city. It's hanging over the skyline across Humber Bay like a giant hot air balloon in the golden hour.

Taken at 7:00am it shows the dark steel grey of the loch, in the middle distance low cloud / mist cloaks the lower hills and fills the valleys. In the background the Torridon Mountains tower above the scene. Gentle light from the rising sun illuminates the top of the mist and the peaks of Torridon. The sky above the mountains is clear, but at the top of the photo above my head a band of dark, angry cloud hints at bad weather to come.

Combining both the #MountainMonday and #ClassicMono themes today, with this shot made at Lake Motosu, Japan, back in 2016. My eldest son Joe, who was then 15, standing on the jetty in the evening. Mist rolling in on to the peaks. End of an awesome day, spent in and on the water. Wonderful spot.

A black and white photograph made at Lake Motosu in Japan back in 2016. It shows my eldest son, Joe, standing at the end of a small wooden pier that juts out into the lake from the beach. Joe was 15 at the time. We were camping at the beach, as we did every summer. The photos shows the mountains in the background, with morning cloud cover across their tops. One of the most relaxing places to camp and chill for a few days.
