Ever since I put the Hillary "But Her Emails" cup as my avatar, the tone of men coming at me has been STARKLY different. In the abusive direction. It's like waving a red flag. They cannot help themselves or guarantee their behavior. Anthropologically fascinating.

The law used in this case was passed in 1986. But if Johnson wants to look at more recent laws that have been used to arrest people for their social media use, he’ll be shocked when he discovered who was in government – or even Number 10 – when they were introduced, over liberal objections.

I have rather turbulent IBS so anyone who wastes my time by arguing if my grade 3 hair cut is allowed in the "ladies" will be taking my men's trousers home to wash the diarrhoea out of them. (I've been challenged before. It's never funny. Humiliating is a better description.)

🧵Reform UK is trying to convince voters ahead of the local elections that it is now “professional”. Farage has condemned union members who, he said, were “telling kids that Reform is a racist party”. So we looked into some of Reform's candidates and here's what we found 👇

For all those excited at the thought of women with short hair being excluded from the Ladies, yes, sometimes we're challenged. No, it's never an issue once we speak or the challenger has a proper look. They apologise, we laugh. All good. No-one dies: we are women, not snowflakes.

Today UK authors are protesting against Meta for stealing our work to train their AI model. Authors earn an average of £7000 per year, we are not rich, and yet a trillion dollar company decided it didn’t want to license our work fairly as it was “too expensive” Theft is not a valid alternative.

If the government is serious about fixing the NHS and helping people back into work, it needs to fund mental health care properly. We need shorter waiting times. We need better inpatient care. And we need real and sustained investment. 3/3

🚨 The share of spending dedicated to mental health across the NHS has dropped for the first time in years. Those of us living with mental illness are currently being failed by this government. We need to see parity of esteem between mental and physical health.
Share of spending dedicated to mental health across the NHS has dropped for the first time in years.
Taken alongside the sweeping benefit cuts yesterday, we believe that people living with mental illness are currently being failed by this government.
The health secretary himself has admitted that mental health is in a dire state, yet there was no mention of mental health in the government’s recent plan to bring down NHS waiting lists.
We need to see change.
Without a clear and funded plan to ensure people receive care and treatment early, the nation’s mental health will continue to decline and the impact will be felt across society.

The OBR has not yet been able to forecast any employment gain from the cuts/changes to incapacity & disability benefits MPs are being asked to support around £6.5bn of cuts & increased conditionality for ill & disabled people without any clear assessment of what it will achieve
Text from OBR document: Labour supply impact of Spring Statement welfare and employment support measures: We have not made a comprehensive assessment of the labour supply impacts of those elements of the Green Paper that we have incorporated into the fiscal forecast. The individual measures’ labour market impacts are complex to assess and would have interacting effects. The Government did not provide us with a comprehensive and robust analysis of these potential effects, and we were not, in the very limited time available, able to develop our own analysis of their net impact on labour supply. In addition, some of the wider Green Paper reforms set out above, which are not included in the fiscal forecast, could also have labour market implications. We will make a full assessment of the Green Paper policies’ effects ahead of our next forecast
