While all eclipses are fun, this one will be relatively late in the day and low in the sky, and totality will be only 1’30”. Some amazing ones coming up tho: 6’22” of totality over Luxor next August, and 3 mins over Sydney in 2028. If you’d me and Brian to host that one, I think we’d be delighted.

It certainly did in 2015 when we did three days of Stargazing Live around the eclipse including live coverage of Totality from a plane looping over the Faroe Islands. Plus, we were in Jodrell. Different times, baby.

Specific Duolingo question: has anyone got into level 60/70 and found it gets very repetitive? Every end-of-unit quiz is identical. Generally happy with it up to there (in tandem with other apps and methods) but it’s getting boring now. Does it shake that off?

Am touring Scandinavia at the moment, which is a joy; but it’s striking just how little buzz there is about the World Cup a month out in either Norway or Sweden. Sure, the club season is still going, but it just feels like people are feeling… distanced from it.
